My Mini Spring Tour ended with a fabulously fun show in Prince George and crescendoed with the Rotary Fish Dinner back in Prince Rupert. We left Rupert Thursday evening at about 6:00pm and drove the 8 hours to Prince George arriving at 2:00am. The next day keeping with what was becoming a tour theme, we had a huge omelet breakfast prepared by Garnett (Steve's Dad) and then we were off to help Kat (Steve's little Sister) move. She is heading to Banff to work for the summer. Then it was a quick stop at Costco for Contacts and then R&R before the show. Steve's mom Jackie prepared a yummy wholesome dinner and then we were off to the venue. Cafe Voltaire is an funky coffeshop situated inside Books and Company in downtown Prince George. The opening acts for us that night were a woman named Haley who has a voice comparable to Janice Joplin and a trio of young lads called 'The Wailers' very amusing! Gary was heading to the venue on his Triumph Motorcycle and arrived with 15 min to spare due to an incident involving speeding tickets and the fasted trip to George in history! We had a great show, had fun and sold lots of cds. After the show we retired to Steves Mom's house where we indulged in Roys homemade rhubarb wine.
Morning comes quickly when you drink rhubarb wine and have to be on the road for 8:00am! We said our goodbyes with promises to visit longer next time. Steve and I hit the road back to Rupert and arriced with time to spare. Steve hauled gear and I dressed for the Rotary Dinner. Due to a mix up with the DJ I played for and extra hour, wich was fine with me ( I love being on stage!) Its the first time I played solo in the Curling Rink for 300 people.
Sunday...day of rest....hmmmm did not wake up until 2:00pm .....much needed sleep. I wish the tour was not over. The month of May brings a show in Kispiox and the rest is a mystery.
