Adventures in Terraceland!
Well.....the van spent Friday night outside the new Liquor Store in Terrace. It did not want to start after we stopped in to pick up some beverages. Nicole graciously picked us up and transported us to the "Spaetzle' Party! 15 people, live crab, German Pasta, great wine and great music, a little hoola hoop and some great musical jamming suddenly it was 4:00am. The next morning it took several hours to get the van started. The Terrace Volkswagen Dealership was too busy to deal with us and sent us to Nappa to get parts (not impressed!) The Nappa guys were awsome and gave us lots of suggestions...it turns out the wire to the starter had come loose. Rather than race up to the hill for 2 hours of skiiing we hit Sight and Sound to look at guitars. I played a $1700 Yamaha guitar that was sweet! The best part of the day was meeting and jamming with Jeremy from the Kitimat band Anything August. We sat in the guitar room and played away....I checked out thier website later in the day. These guys are a band to watch. Great music! After, we checked out some second hand stores and I found a puffy MEC downfilled jacket for 10$ a bit beat up but will be a great camping jacket and found Steve a merino wool, fleece lined jacket from New Zealand for 17$ normally ($300). Had another practice night with Gary and said goodbye to Alex and Andreas they were heading to Hazleton to go snowboarding that night and then they head back to Germany/Austria on Monday. Got up bright and early this morning and I am now back in Rupert getting ready to run the open mic night this evening at Cowpuccinos. Time for a quick nap I think......
