Took the v-dub van for a road trip to Smithers. Shared the gas with other Rupert muscians/friends Sarah and Frances. Lots of fun....played the mainstage Saturday with singer Yael Wand, the Tubeless girls, Erica Vleigenhart and the keyboard player from La Candala. Had a great jam session....beautiful voices. Got to hear my songs with keys and fiddle. Totally different Festival experience than other years.....Played the farmers market in Smithers starting at 9:00am on Saturday...sold quite a few cd's and then had a breakfast set on Sunday Morning. I don't know if it was my announcement that 'if they bring the coffee I'd bring the bailys' that got all those people up at 10:00am, but there were at least 60 people there. It was nice actually...There are no expectations that early in the morning and I got to pull out all of my slow songs.
I have 60 days until I have my last day at Aero Trading. I am supprisingly nostalgic about the whole experience. The fishing industry has moved me in ways I never expected. What a neat place to work for a few years. All I have left to do now is train my replacement, buckle down and finish out the summer and make some money. Up next is Em's wedding in Ontario and then possibly a few more show here in Rupert then it's Crashing On Your Couch Tour Time!!!!!
